If I had to describe myself in three words: your new friend!

In more words, I am a very approachable person and a good listener. I always have a smile on my face and I have a great sense of humor! I love making people feel at ease, and I do it... with ease!

I love capturing love stories. I am starting my 4th wedding season, but I’ve been photographing life and people for over 7 years. I studied photography, but also interior design, so I believe I have an eye for “beauty” in general.

I think there’s so much beauty in simplicity, in everyday gestures and subtle moments. I love chasing the most beautiful light and the most beautiful settings, but what really matters to me are the emotions. Many of my favourite photos are the candid ones, taken without anyone knowing.

A little more about me, but nothing to do with photography:

I love red wine, cocktails (this year, I have a fixation for the Negroni), salt and vinegar chips, sushi, PASTA. All the pasta. I don’t like shepperd's pie. My favourite series is Schitt’s Creek (if you haven't watched it yet, I BEG you to, seriously. And give it a chance, even if you don't like the first episode).
I prefer 80s music. I love interior design, winter & the cold, coffee...

I’m a “homebody.”

But enough about me. Tell me about you!

Message me so we can chat. I LOVE TO CHAT!

about val

When I photograph a wedding, I document a unique day, unique people, and unique moments. I capture it all like a little story, a  photo reportage of the events as they unfold, but with my artistic touch and my own unique perspective. I call it Documentary & Lifestyle wedding photography.

The most important thing I can tell you is this: your wedding day should not revolve around the photos. A bit weird, coming from a  photographer, right? But it’s such an important day, and I absolutely don’t want it to revolve around my work. Instead, my work will revolve around your day.

My approach consists in intervening as little as possible throughout the day, as my style is primarily documentary. My goal is to document your event in its purest essence, always with an artistic perspective (in terms of framing, angles, etc.).

The "Lifestyle" part is for things like couple portraits, group photos, family photos, etc., moments where I take a more active role and guide you to capture beautiful portraits. These are really the only moments where I’ll have you move to a prettier setting or better light. But still, your portraits will be taken as naturally as possible, without too much posing. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get the desired result!

And couples who say they’re shy, not photogenic, and awkward—well, that’s my specialty! After all, most of the couples in my portfolio said the same thing at first, and look at the results!

why choose me?

Having me as your wedding photographer is like having a good friend equipped with a camera, capturing all the important moments while you’re living them.

It’s knowing that the person responsible for capturing the essence of your wedding will be on the lookout for every little, or big, thing happening around you.

It’s looking at your photos after the big day and reliving all those moments as if you’re still there, through my artistic perspective.

It’s asking yourselves, “How did she take that photo? We didn’t even see her do it!” (A priest once told me I was as discreet as an angel, not to brag…)

And it’s also having another ally on your side because you’re “my” couples (I prefer to refer to you this way rather than clients), and I want what’s best for you! (Yes, I get attached easily!)

Plus, the kind of photos you see in my portfolio is exactly the kind of photos you’ll get. I’m very attentive to details and meticulous, aiming for a certain balance and harmony in my work. I put as much effort into each wedding entrusted to me.
